Terms of Service
1. Who we are and how these Terms apply
Cevylo ("Cevylo", "we", "us" or "our") provides the Cevylo website, accounts and the MultiCam editing plugin (together, the "Services"). These Terms apply whenever you create or activate an account, download MultiCam or use the Services.
Cevylo is a pre-commercial software service operated from the United Kingdom. During the free private beta, legal and support notices can be sent to [email protected]. Before Cevylo accepts payment, the checkout will identify the legal trader and provide any additional information required for that purchase.
If you use the Services for a company, studio or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. "You" then includes both you and that organisation.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into this agreement.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for activity through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
- Your account and licence are personal to you or your organisation. You must not sell, transfer, share or rent them unless Cevylo agrees in writing.
3. Beta access
MultiCam is invite-only beta software. Beta access may be free, limited, changed, suspended or withdrawn. Features, compatibility, limits and availability may change while we test and improve the product. We do not promise that a beta feature will reach a commercial release.
You must keep independent backups of footage, project files and sequences and review generated edits before relying on or delivering them. You should test MultiCam on duplicate project files rather than your only working copy.
4. Licence and ownership
Subject to these Terms, Cevylo grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use MultiCam on the number of devices allowed by your plan, solely for lawful video-editing work.
Cevylo and its licensors retain all rights in the Services, including software, models, workflows, branding, design and documentation. The licence does not transfer ownership. Your footage, audio, project files and completed edits remain yours or your licensors'.
5. Acceptable use
- Only process material that you have the right and lawful authority to use.
- Do not copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense or make MultiCam available as a standalone product.
- Do not bypass licensing, authentication, device, account or plan limits.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile or extract source code except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits and cannot be excluded by contract.
- Do not use the Services to introduce malware, interfere with Cevylo systems, access another account or break applicable law.
6. Devices, updates and connectivity
Your plan controls device seats and usage limits. You can free a seat from your account. MultiCam periodically validates access online and may continue temporarily during the stated offline grace period. Deliberately preventing validation or manipulating a device to extend access breaches these Terms.
We may provide fixes, compatibility updates or new versions. An update may be required for security, licensing or continued compatibility with Adobe Premiere Pro, macOS or third-party components.
7. Feedback
You do not have to provide feedback. If you send bug reports, suggestions or beta feedback, you permit Cevylo to use, reproduce and incorporate that feedback without payment or restriction. This does not transfer ownership of your footage or project files.
8. Plans, payments and consumer rights
The private beta is currently free. If paid plans launch, the price, taxes, billing period, renewal terms, device and usage limits, cancellation method and any applicable refund or withdrawal information will be shown before you place an order. We will not charge you merely because you took part in the free beta.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights that applicable consumer law says cannot be excluded. If you are a consumer, digital content and services must meet the mandatory standards that apply where you live. Any special consent needed to begin a paid digital download during a statutory cancellation period will be requested separately at checkout.
9. Privacy and local media processing
Our Privacy Policy explains how account and licence data is handled. MultiCam is designed to process your footage, audio and Adobe project data locally on your computer; Cevylo does not receive those media files through the normal editing workflow.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request account deletion using the contact details in the Privacy Policy, subject to records we must retain by law.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the Services, create security or legal risk, or if the beta ends. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy a breach. Sections intended by their nature to continue—including ownership, feedback, liability and governing law—survive termination.
11. Service availability and third parties
The beta is provided without a service-level guarantee. MultiCam depends on compatible versions of macOS, Adobe Premiere Pro and other third-party components that Cevylo does not control. References to planned Windows, DaVinci Resolve or other support are plans, not commitments.
12. Warranties and liability
We will provide the Services with reasonable care and skill where applicable law requires it. Subject to those mandatory rights, beta features are provided "as available" and may contain errors, interruptions or incomplete functionality.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cevylo is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings, or avoidable loss of footage, projects or data caused by failing to keep reasonable backups.
For free beta use, Cevylo's total liability arising from the Services will not exceed £100, except where a limitation is prohibited by law. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, deliberate misconduct, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Changes to the Services or these Terms
We may change these Terms to reflect product, security, legal or commercial changes. The current version and date will always appear here. If a change materially affects existing users, we will provide reasonable notice and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the updated Terms before continued use. Changes do not remove rights that already arose under an earlier version.
14. General legal terms
If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; Cevylo may transfer it as part of a genuine reorganisation, financing or sale of the service, provided your mandatory rights are not reduced.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction that applicable law gives you.
Please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve a concern promptly.
