The footage was awkward in exactly the normal ways
The shoot combined two long camera recordings with two cameras that stopped and started throughout the set. That produced 53 shorter burst clips alongside the long angles. Everything needed to line up against a single 75-minute desk recording.
That is harder than syncing an interview. Electronic music repeats: a short clip can produce several convincing waveform matches one or two phrases apart. A system that simply chooses the strongest-looking match can be confidently wrong.

What MultiCam actually did
Matched the sound
Camera scratch audio was compared against the continuous master using coarse landmarks and a refined audio match.
Checked chronology
Competing matches were constrained by the neighbouring clips from the same camera, instead of treating every clip in isolation.
Wrote the timeline
The final offsets were applied back into Premiere Pro while preserving the four source tracks for review.
The logged result
The run began at 12:23:44 and completed at 12:34:45 local time: 11 minutes and 1 second end to end. All 55 clips were placed across four tracks.
Thirteen clips encountered weak or ambiguous matches that would normally be risky. MultiCam placed those clips inside the bounds created by their neighbouring same-camera clips—a process the beta records as chronology rescue. After that guard, the worker reported zero low-confidence or unsafe placements, and the Premiere apply stage left zero clips requiring manual placement.
Result: 55 clips placed · four tracks preserved · 13 chronology-rescued clips · zero unsafe placements · zero manual-placement issues in the final apply summary.
What we still checked by eye
Zero flagged placements is not permission to skip review. The editor still checked visible performance cues—hands on the mixer, lighting changes and crowd reactions—especially around short back-of-house and roaming clips.
The final production was also creatively refined in Premiere Pro. Shot choice, pacing, colour, audio finishing and delivery decisions remain editorial work. MultiCam is designed to remove mechanical assembly and produce an editable starting point, not to pretend taste no longer matters.
What this test does—and does not—prove
- It proves that this real 75-minute production completed a 55-clip waveform-sync run in 11:01 and wrote all four camera tracks back into Premiere.
- It proves that chronology handling rescued 13 otherwise ambiguous clips in this run.
- It does not prove that every shoot will complete without review. Wind, clipped audio, silent cameras and incorrect recording clocks can still force manual recovery.
- It does not measure final creative-cut quality or total delivery time. Those need separate, repeatable tests against an editor-approved sequence.
